Within the framework of the prevention of wolf damage to the interest groups, the project focuses on:
- communication with farmers in areas of wolf occurrence,
- prevention and damage reduction,
- monitoring of conflict situations.
Communication with stakeholders in areas of wolf occurrence
The project partners, in the form of seminars for farmers, foresters, hunters and users of the area, seek to gain information on the occurrence of wolves, the preventive measures used and their effectiveness. They share their knowledge about wolf behaviour and ecology, as well as their origin and distribution. It is a matter of course to present the results of the project.

Damage prevention and compensation
Project investigators are looking for preventive measures against damage caused by wolves on the basis of farmers' experience on both sides of the border. The project envisages the use of fences and shepherd dogs for interested farmers. The model use of preventive measures should allow the evaluation of the utility and effectiveness of these measures. At the same time, the project focuses on the systematization of the procedures for the settlement and compensation of damages and proposes the updating of the strategy for prevention of damage with the national effectiveness.
Monitoring of conflict situations
Project partners monitor all conflicting situations between land users and wolves such as cattle damage or illegal wolf disposal and pass this information on to responsible government authorities and the public. In the event of a conflict situation, do not hesitate to contact Lukáš Žák on the phone number 731 067 393 or at e-mail orek(at)seznam.cz. If you need a help with dealing with a damaging event, use the project partner's web site, the Nature Conservation Agency of the Czech Republic, where you can find up-to-date information on the possibilities of compensation for damages.
