The functionality of preventive measures has been repeatedly confirmed

Yesterday, our field worker reaffirmed the presence of wolves around the farm of the Hegers in Doubice, who lost their sheep and goats in the summer of 2018 as a result of wolf attacks. They decided to change their approach and secure their herds. In the autumn of 2018, they built quality fences and bought shepherd dogs. Since then, the wolves have not entered the enclosure, although we repeatedly find traces of their residence in the area. Yesterday's tracking of a multi-membered pack was significant in that we were able to take samples (fur, faeces, urine) for DNA analysis. Genetics should confirm whether these are the same wolves that attacked in 2018. That is, wolves that know what prey is in the enclosure, but preventive measures have taught them to look for an easier source of food elsewhere.
