Third camera trap campaign results were published

The OWAD project publishes the third results of camera trap campaigns in the Ore Mountains and in the Czech and Saxon Switzerland National Parks. We offer a comparison of the results of two identical seasons in two consecutive years. In both localities, as in previous campaigns, the most often recorded animal was the red deer. In the Czech and Saxon Switzerland NPs the relative abundance of some species decreased (polecat, badger, fallow deer, roe deer), but it increased in wild pigs and hares. In the Ore Mountains around the Deer Mountain, the camera traps revealed a decline in the relative abundance of red deer, roe deer and hare, and an increase in wolves, marten and humans. A novelty in recorded species is in the vicinity of Deer Mountain raccoon dog and sika deer, which we did not find on the camera traps in the previous year.
